The #NotABarbie Career and Empowerment Conference aims to provide guidance and build community among women and trans* professionals who are uninspired by “lean in” thinking. We seek to uplift and validate the characteristics that make women great employees, entrepreneurs, and leaders. 

This day-long conference is hosted by Boston GLOW (www.bostonglow.org) and features over 20 speakers in 3 breakout sessions and 3 keynote speakers.

The event will take place in Wheelock College’s Campus Center Student Residence building.

I work at a dialogue and deliberation nonprofit in Cambridge, and am interested in developing a digital platform for structured dialogue across differences to enhance empathy and understanding. I'm also attending Emerson College's Civic Media graduate program, where I'm working with an organization called IGNITE, which trains high school and college women to run for public office, on a digital public engagement platform.
